    Cubs 7, Dodgers 3

Los Angeles — The Cubs scored early and often jumping out to a six-run lead and never looked back. The Cubs chased Dodger starter John Ely (4-7) after just 2 1/3 innings while Tom Gorzelanny (4-5) cruised through 6 innings allowing just 2 runs (1 earned) to earn his 2nd win in 3 starts since joining the rotation after a month in the pen.

Geovany Soto led the charge for the Cubs with a two-run homer in the second and later adding an RBI single. Overall Soto was 3-4. Starlin Castro added a pair of RBI singles as well. Andre Ethier added two RBI for the Dodgers. Aramis Ramirez also added his 10th homer of the year for the Cubs.

Lou Piniella was ejected for the first time since August 9th of last season. It was his 65th ejection overall and 6th with the Cubbies.

Been following Chicago sports for many years. I have ties to Rockford, Illinois however have since been displaced in North Carolina far from Illinois. I am still an avid fan despite the geographical complications in following my teams. I am known as the internet’s #1 Rex Grossman connoisseur
