Julius Peppers fined for hit on Packers Rodgers

The NFL announced earlier today that Bears defensive end Julius Peppers is fined $10,000 for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The hit came early in the fourth quarter, and may have done the Bears some justice.

On the play Peppers came off the left side on a blitz on second and 10. Rodgers got the ball off but it fell incomplete. Rodgers got up slowly after the it and bit his tongue he he was bleeding from it. After the hit, Rodgers didn’t look the same at all. He had a bad second half, as the Packers let the Bears get back into the game.

The fine will be pocket change for Peppers who will be playing in the Pro Bowl this weekend. The winning Pro Bowl team earns $45,000 per player, and the losing team $22,500 per player. Peppers will be able to pay the fine and have some extra cash no matter what his team does.

That hit was well worth the 15 yards and the $10k.
