Richard Dent Elected to Hall of Fame

Richard Dent will have to wait no longer, he finally gets the call. The call that every player in the NFL eventually wants to get. The call to the Hall of Fame.

Dent was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday afternoon.

It’s been a long time coming for the Super Bowl XX MVP. He was denied six times in the last seven years. After all that, it still feels good for Dent. “”It feels great,” Dent said in a interview with ESPNChicago.com

Dent is the Chicago Bears all time sack leader with 137.5 sacks in his career. He was one of the most dominant defensive players on one of the NFL’s best defenses ever.

The Bears selected Dent in the eighth round, No. 203 overall in the 1983 NFL draft. Dent played his college ball at Tennessee State.

Dent becomes the 27th Chicago Bears player to be named to the Hall of Fame. That’s more than any other team in the NFL.

Joining Dent in the Hall of Fame are: Deion Sanders, Marshall Faulk, Shannon Sharpe and Ed Sabol.
