Chicago Bulls Clinch The Top Spot in the NBA Eastern Conference

The first seed in the East now belongs to the Chicago Bulls in the 2010-11 regular season after their 93-82 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavs ended with the best record in the Eastern Conference for the past two consecutive seasons until the Bulls officially recrowned them from that honor on Friday evening.

Derrick Rose was not very aggressive but did not need to be since Cleveland did not have the talent to offer much resistance to counter his Bulls’ attack.

Fiitingly, it was the role players of the Bulls who sewed up the best record in the Conference for the Bulls.  It was Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer,  Joakim Noah, Kyle Korver, Ronnie Brewer, Taj Gibson, Omer Asik, Kurt Thomas, C.J. Watson, and (yes) Keith Bogans who gave Derrick Rose the edge against the heavyweights like the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat— who were heavily favorited in the East before the season.

The Bulls will seek their first 60-win season since the 1997-98 season on Sunday afternoon against the Dwight Howard-less Orlando Magic.
