Game 1 – Sox 2 Yankees 0

Apparently the best way for the Sox to win is for the Pitcher to shut out the opponents like Phil Humber did Monday. Humber went 7 innings surrendering one hit and 0 runs against the daunting Yankees offense, at Yankees Stadium, none-the-less. Sale pitched to 2 batters in the 8 striking out 1 and he gave way to Sergio “El Matador” Santos who nailed down his first save of the season pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball. The offense on the other hand was again … offensive the Sox managed only 5 hits and scored 2 runs in the win, it’s a win though, I’ll take it.

Game 2 – Sox 3 Yankees 2

Gavin Floyd picked up where Humber left off pitching another gem. Gavin pitched 8 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk and struck out 10, opening the 9th was, for some reason, Matt Thornton who got one out then walked his next batter so Ozzie went to El Matador who earned the save due to 2 spectacular plays by Brent Lillibridge. Konerko hit a Game Winning 2 run shot. Alexei went 2/4 the rest of the hitting was … eh … so-so

Game 3 – Yankees 3 Sox 1

This was the Game of wasted opportunities for the Sox. Mark Buehrle pitched well going 7 innings giving up 3 Runs on 6 hits and 2 walks striking out 5. The Sox managed only 7 hits 3 of which were off the bat of Carlos Quentin who went 3/3 with his White Sox record 13th Double in April. Adam Dunn went 2/4 driving in the Sox only run.

Game 4 – Yankees 12 Sox 3

The Sox, as is the case were unable to figure out CC Sabathia and Edwin Jackson was lit-up. Jackson pitched 4 innings surrendering 4 hits and walking 5, striking out only 2 and giving up 6 Earned Runs. Tony Pena relieved Jackson but was unable to get the job done giving up 2 runs and 3 hits in 0 innings, and was pulled for an elbow pain. Will Ohman threw 1 inning giving up an earned run and Jeff Gray got some work going 2 innings giving up 3 earned. Ramon Castro and Alexei went 2/4
