Sox @ Twins

In a rain abbreviated series, the Twins once again showed the Sox who are boss as the Sox fell to 0-4 on the season vs. the perennial Al Central leaders. The pitching, as has been the case most of 2011, was solid, solid enough to win. The hitting on the other hand was absolute garbage and did not deserve to win.

Gavin Floyd started the first game and went the distance surrendering 4 ER and struck out 6, pitching well enough to win, instead he fell to 6-6 for the year. Mark Buehrle followed up Floyds performance with a 7 inning gem of his own surrendering only 1 run on 3 hits.

The hitting problems were many … oh where to begin? As a team they were 1/13 with RISP and left 13 on base and eked out a single run over the 18 innings played they had plenty of chances but grounded into 6 Double Plays, with that kind of performance, who cares about individual numbers?
