Blackhawks Rally To Beat Toronto 5-4

The Chicago Blackhawks overcome a two-goal deficit to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs by a final score of 5-4 snapping a 3-game losing streak.

Toronto cracked open the scoring just 59 seconds into the opening period with Tyler Bozak netting his 14th goal of the season.

Andrew Shaw found the scoresheet once again and he slipped a wrist shot past the right pad and under the glove of Jonas Gustavsson.

Joffrey Lupul quickly got it back capitalizing on a Patrick Sharp hooking penalty that put the Maple Leafs back up by a goal, and then Clarke MacArthur extended the lead to 3-1 after scoring his 19th goal of the season.

With seconds winding down in the first period, Marcus Kruger found the back of the net and created some momentum.

Joel Quenneville decided to pull Corey Crawford and throw in Ray Emery to start out the next period and it seemed to pay off.

Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa added a goal in the period that gave Chicago a 4-3 lead and in the third period, Hossa sealed it with an empty net goal. Mike Brown got one late for Toronto, but it was too late.

Brandon Bollig dropped the gloves with Luke Schenn and had his “welcome to the NHL moment” in his first career game.

Ray Emery stopped 23 of 24 shots in his relief appearance and earned his 12th win of the season.
