Chicago Cubs Placed Shawn Camp on the DL; Recall Rafael Dolis from Triple-A.
The Chicago Cubs announced that they have placed relief pitcher Shawn Camp on the 15-day DL with a sprained big right toe and recalled relief pitcher Rafael Dolis from Triple-A Iowa. Camp is lucky to still be on the Cubs roster after a bad outing last night and bad start to the season.
Last night, Camp gave up a grand slam to Travis Snider that ultimately lost the Cubs the game. First off, Camp should have never been in the game and lost another game for the Cubs. To me, it seems like the Cubs are covering up for Camp and Dale Sveum. Saying he was injured and why he did not pitch great last night. Camp reportedly has been bother by the toe for a few days now and has been taking treatment for his toe. I can’t say if the injury is real or not, but it’s a sprained toe… you can play with a sprained toe and does not affect you pitching. In my book, it’s just an excuse from the Cubs
The Cubs made a mistake, though. If the Cubs knew Camp was bothered by an injury, why not placed him on the DL before yesterday’s game and keep Michael Bowden in the wake of activating Matt Garza off of the DL? That’s another reason I think it’s not genuine and a way the Cubs can keep Camp and so he doesn’t have to pitch. So, he can now throw on the side and pitch in minor-league rehab games before returning.
What do you think … real or fake injury?
