The latest report has the Cubs offering Lester a 6-year-deal worth $138M.

The Chicago Cubs are in pursuit of free agent pitcher Jon Lester and a decision could be made any day soon now. But the latest report from CBS’s Jon Heyman states the Cubs offer to Lester currently stands at 6-years, $138M.

Heyman also reports that the Red Sox are willing to go 6-years at $130M, as they too are also pursuing the free agent prize. There were reports earlier in the week by David Kaplan that had the Cubs somewhere north of $135M for Lester and this just confirms it.

Lester also met with the San Francisco Giants today.
