The Chicago Bulls announced that point guard Derrick Rose will have surgery on Friday morning to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. The full name for the surgery is meniscectomy, which removes part or all of the meniscus in the knee.
It’s unknown if Rose will return this season, but the organization has said it believes the tear isn’t as bad as the previous one Rose suffered last year. Surgeons won’t be able to tell how long Rose is out until they go in and do the surgery. If the tear is smaller, Rose could be back in a three-to-six week time period.
Tomorrow will certainly be one of the biggest days for the Chicago Bulls as they await the future of their star point guard.
