Wrigley Field evacuated after Cubs-Giants game

UPDATE: The bomb threat was a hoax.

Following Sunday’s Chicago Cubs win over the San Francisco Giants, Wrigley Field had to be evacuated due to a bomb threat at the stadium. Media members in the press box had to be evacuated and later on police confirmed it was a bomb threat:

Hours later it was revealed that the threat was indeed a hoax. The Chicago Cubs released a statement:

“Following our game this afternoon, we received a bomb threat and took swift action to clear the few remaining fans, players, staff and media from the ballpark. After a thorough search by law enforcement, no evidence was found to suggest this threat was credible. We take safety at Wrigley Field seriously and are working with law enforcement authorities to pursue the person who initiated this threat.”
