2016 NFL Draft order: Chicago Bears remain put at No. 11

While many think losing games will help your team in the future, this week it may have not helped the Chicago Bears at all.

Despite a loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday the Bears draft position didn’t change. The Bears are currently pegged to select No. 11 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft because of a tie breaker they lose to the Detroit Lions.

There are currently four 5-9 teams in the NFL, including the Bears, but they lose the tie breaker to the other three due to strength of schedule. Here is the updated order via SB Nation:

1. Tennessee Titans: 3-11 (.487 strength of schedule)
2. Cleveland Browns: 3-11 (.536 SOS)
3. San Diego Chargers: 4-10 (.518 SOS – 3-7 in conference, 0-4 in division)
4. Baltimore Ravens: 4-10 (.518 SOS – 3-7 in conference, 2-2 in division)
5. Dallas Cowboys: 4-10 (.540 SOS)
6. San Francisco 49ers: 4-10 (.549 SOS)
7. Jacksonville Jaguars: 5-9 (.464 SOS)
8. Miami Dolphins: 5-9 (.473 SOS)
9. New Orleans Saints: 5-9 (.513 SOS)
10. Detroit Lions: 5-9 (.531 SOS)
11. Chicago Bears: 5-9 (.540 SOS)
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 6-8 (.478 SOS)
13. New York Giants: 6-8 (.496 SOS)
14. Indianapolis Colts: 6-8 (.504 SOS)
15. Oakland Raiders: 6-8 (.509 SOS)
16. Philadelphia Eagles: 6-8 (.513 SOS)
17. Buffalo Bills: 6-8 (.518 SOS)
18. St. Louis Rams: 6-8 (.531 SOS)
19. Atlanta Falcons: 7-7 (.478 SOS)
20. New York Jets: 9-5 (.442 SOS)

This does not include current playoff teams.

With two games left, the Bears could technically still end up with the No. 1 pick depending on the tie breakers but they will likely be in the 6-12 area. If they win out they could even pick up to No. 18 while missing out on the playoffs again.

The next few weeks will be interesting for the Bears who have come out with less than impressive performances during their three-game win streak.
