Austin Jackson agrees to deal with Chicago White Sox

Outfielder Austin Jackson is the newest member of the Chicago White Sox

Austin Jackson is staying in Chicago after all. The free agent outfielder has agreed to a one-year deal with the Chicago White Sox worth $5 million according to reports. Jackson spent part of last season with the Cubs as a late-season acquisition.

The deal will become official when Jackson passes his physical. The 29-year-old hit .236 with a home run and 10 RBI’s in 29 games with the Cubs. He’s a natural center fielder but with Adam Eaton already on the roster, Jackson will likely be a platoon outfielder for the White Sox. He can also fill in as a defensive replacement with his glove skills.
