The White Sox tie a franchise record for wins in April

The Chicago White Sox are off to a franchise-record start.

After coming from behind to beat the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, the White Sox improved to 17-8 on the young 2016 season. The 17 wins in April tie a franchise record for the month which has been done three previous times: 2000, 2005 and 2006.

Along with their 17-8 record in April, the White Sox now hold a 3-game lead over the Detroit Tigers (13-10) in the AL Central. That’s also the biggest lead the White Sox have had in the division entering May in Franchise history.

The White Sox entered the game on a two-game losing streak and fell behind 1-0 early. But they came back.

After losing the lead giving up runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, the White Sox rallied by scoring a at least a run in the final three innings. Jose Abreu’s clutch RBI single in the ninth inning gave them the lead for the last time.

Third baseman Todd Frazier also hit a home run, his seventh of the season:

The White Sox will have the chance to win the series on Sunday and then will take on the Boston Red Sox in a three game set next week.
