The Chicago Cubs are going back to the NLCS

For the second-straight season the Chicago Cubs are going to the National League Championship Series.

The Cubs rallied from a three-run deficit in the ninth inning to stun the San Francisco Giants and win Game 4 6-5 and advance. After Giants starter Matt Moore held the Cubs to just two hits in eight innings, the bullpen imploded.

Kris Bryant started off the ninth inning with a single, Anthony Rizzo followed with a double and then Ben Zobrist ripped a double down the line.

But it was pinch hitter Willson Contreras who singled up the middle to tie the game at five.

A Javier Baez single gave the Cubs the lead as they handed over the ball to Aroldis Chapman for the three-out save.

It was a game in which the Cubs couldn’t muster anything through eight innings. But they got to the Giants bullpen when it mattered the most.

Baez had a heck of a day both offensively and defensively, showing us that he’s still a damn magician with the tags out there.

The Cubs now await the winner of the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers who will play a Game 5 in DC on Thursday night.

Game 1 of the NLCS is set for Saturday night at Wrigley Field.
