NFL Free Agency 2018: Live Chicago Bears blog, tracker, open thread

The NFL Free Agency period is officially here! Agents and teams are permitted to be in contact beginning on Monday, with agreements being signed beginning on Wednesday.

For the Chicago Bears, they enter a crucial offseason that is centered around former No. 2 overall pick Mitchell Trubisky. General Manager Ryan Pace will look to add weapons around Trubisky on offense but also sure up parts of a defense that was Top 10 in 2017.

Monday’s period opens up at 11 a.m. CST and news will start rolling in throughout the day and into the week. Keep track of everything below.

7:46 — Mike Glennon is likely headed to Arizona according to Tiffany Blackmon.

7:45 — Prince Amukamara is returning to the Bears according to the latest report.

7:32 — The Packers aren’t done yet. They are signing Muhammad Wilkerson.

3:15 — The Bears are expected to sign speedy wide receiver Taylor Gabriel to a four-year deal.

10:45 — Bears have addressed the kicker position, agreeing to a deal with Cody Parkey according to Adam Schefter.

10:22 — The Bears strike again. They have agreed to a deal with FA TE Trey Burton according to Mike Garafolo.

7:45 — The Bears were also after WR Sammy Watkins according to Jeff Dickerson.

2:02 AM — Looks like a 3-year, $42M deal for Allen Robinson.

1:30 AM— Bears news! The Bears are expected to sign free agent WR Allen Robinson.

12:10 AM — Some news around the NFL as the Denver Broncos are signing Case Keenum.

Monday, March 12

9:00 — The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs wrote on Sammy Watkins. He stated that Watkins is the Bears top target, giving Mitchell Trubisky a deep threat.

8:27 — Ian Rapoport swoops in on Albert Wilson…

8:00  — Albert Wilson might be hinting at something here….

2:57 — Pretty quiet on all fronts right now.

12:35 — The Bears will tender restricted free agent Bryce Callahan, per Adam Jahns.

12:30 p.m. — According to Ian Rapoport, both the Bears and Packers have showed interest in Free Agent Tight End Jimmy Graham.

11:47  — Not shocking, but Cameron Meredith gets a tender by the Bears.

11:32Joshua Bellamy will be back with the team. The Bears are giving original round tender to the restricted Free Agent.

11:19 — Nothing really newsworthy yet. So here’s a tweet from FA WR and Bears target Albert Wilson:

11:05 — Bears will not tender long snapper Patrick Scales.

9:40 AM — Bears have re-signed offensive lineman Bradley Sowell according to the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs. They bring back Sowell on a two-year deal to provide some depth on the line.
