Leighton Makes History, IceHogs Win

The IceHogs won in a Shutout game last night against the Lake Erie Monsters, 5-0. But, more importantly, their netminder, Michael Leighton, made AHL History. He broke a 40 year old record of 45 shutout games, when he earned his 46th career Shutout Win. The record was previously held by Johnny Bower. The IceHogs and the Manitoba Moose met up for the 2nd time in 3 days last night in Rockford. The game was filled with hard hits and flaring tempers.
