No one is happier than me that Jim Hendry is not the
GM of the Cubs this season, but Jim Hendry the scout isn't a bad person to have in the organization either. I realize that this was attempt at humor, but I just find the piling on unnecessary at this point.
Hopefully precedent holds out in this case and the guy is in the 25 to 30 range of a much better system than the last time this situation occurred (MacPhail to the Cubs*)
*Is anyone else creeped out between the parallels between MacPhail being named President and Theo? I realize that Jed Hoyer is much, much better than Ed Lynch, but as a history teacher I can't help shake that been there, done that feeling.
