Default Illini: 3rd best team in the B1G?

I think behind Wisconsin who is the best, and Nebraska who is probably 2nd best. Is Illinois the 3rd best team?

Here is a point I made on another forum:

4-0 already. Next week against NW should be a win. Indiana should be a win. Before the season everyone saw Ohio State as a very hard game probably, but now we are ranked higher then them and the game is in Champaign. Purdue is beatable, road games are always tough though. At Penn State will be very tough, but the Illini beat them last year and Penn State still has QB questions. Michigan at home should be a win and at Minnesota should be a win. The only game that is scary is Wisconsin. However, the announcers in the game were saying how they have a shaky defense so it will probably be a high scoring game. 12-0 is obviously very very hard to do, but I think 10-2 is very reachable.

Ohio State and Michigan State are still better than Illinois IMO. Illinois and Michigan are right behind them. After that, it's a bit of a drop in talent.

But then with my second point, you have to look at schedule. I think the Illini will be favored in many of the games, minus the Wisconsin game. The Illini are in a very good spot for 10-2 imo.

They likely will, but Northwestern won't be easy. They play the Illini tough. Outside of that and Wisconsin, they have a fair shot at 10-2.
