Yes, he's going to be suspended for the first 5 games...and yeah, he's got some limitations as to what he can do for his first 3-5 years or something...but recruiting is not limited for him...and he's a helluva coach w/ a proven track record.

I'm more of an SEC fan, an innocent bystander, but I think Tressel could have the Illini going up against Meyer and OSU every year within 2-3 years...

What do Illinois fans think?

Ehh if he is going to stay and not leave for a bigger program, then maybe....but if he doesn't change and he screws the Illini then I'll be pissed

Really? Say he stayed 4 years. Illinois finished in the top 10 the last two...he builds a solid program...then bolts for another job. You've still enjoyed 2 years of really entertaining, competitive football, and the program is set for another good coach to take over?

Well if that scenario happens and we DO get another good coach, I would be pretty happy, but if he bolts and we hire a bust that fucks the program and were right back where we started, then it kinds sucks

Illinois hired their new head coach a week ago.

But let's say their head coaching position was still vacant, there's no way Jim Delany lets Tressel back in the B1G.

I don't remember his name but he coached at Toledo this year, until he joined the team now
