Former Iowa coach Hayden Fry will return to Iowa City in September for the annual Fry Fest celebration. But this year, the school's all-time coaching wins leader is aiming for another record.

I swear I'm not making this up.
Former Iowa football coach Hayden Fry returns to Iowa City next month for the Fry Fest -- and an attempt to set a new Guinness world record by leading more than 4,400 fans in the hokey pokey.

The dance with the "shake it all about" became popular in the 1940s and became a post-game tradition under Fry.


The current Guinness hokey pokey world record is 4,431 participants, set in Toronto in 2003.

We can't let those Canadians win, can we?

Iowa's hokey pokey attempt takes place at 7 p.m. ET on Sept. 3 in Coralville. Here's the Fry Fest schedule.
