Since I'm fresh out of rants against the no fun league, thought I would take a moment to share something more relevant to Chicagoans. This was how Ted Phillips received his lifetime contract in Lake Forest, by negotiating a joke of a stadium while strapping taxpayers for decades b/c the hotel tax will NEVER finish paying for it. Meanwhile, the best thing I found in Soldier Field were the corned beef sandwiched in the United club...the view is obstructed by the upper deck.

And how in the hell is LA financing this without a team?

"What a lousy deal this Soldier Field fiasco was for Chicago. We wrote Dec. 9 about how the project's cost eventually swelled to about $660 million, the public debt burden to some $432 million. Backloaded principal and interest payments are leaping from $6.3 million in 2002 to $88.5 million in 2032. To make the financing work, revenues from a 2 percent hotel tax have to grow by 5.615 percent every year, for 30 years."
