Free Agency:
Vincent Jackson: With Dwayne Bowe most likely getting franchise tagged and Marques Colston having problems staying healthy the Bears go big and grab Vincent Jackson. A premiere #1 wide receiver that Chicago has been lacking the Bears finally give Cutler a reliable target. ![]() John Carlson: The Bears add a quality TE who is a solid receiver and blocker. He gives Chicago a real TE without breaking the bank. As long as he's deemed healthy he would be a quality pick-up for the Bears. ![]() Terrell Thomas: The Bears get an upgrade over Jennings giving them the ability to let him and Bowman walk. He'll be the first real corner we've had outside of Tillman in a long time. ![]() Tavares Gooden: The Bears would love him for his special teams play and perhaps in a 4-3 he can blossom into a quality starter. He has the speed that the 4-3 scheme covets and could provide quality next to Lach and Briggs. ![]() NFL Draft: First Round [19th] Alshon Jeffery: Chicago lands a top notch talent at the WR position, something they've been lacking. While he lacks top notch speed, he makes up for it with a great jump ball and amazing run after the catch ability. He comes to Chicago with a highlight reel filled with spectacular catches and one handed grabs. He's also been praised for his blocking, something Forte will be glad to hear. ![]() Second Round [51st] Vinny Curry: The Bears grab a defensive end who can immediately be thrown into rotation. With Marinelli working on him he could provide the pass rush opposite Peppers that we've been missing. A fast and explosive defensive end Curry could have a big year for Chicago due to the fact teams will be so worried with Peppers, combine that with fresh legs because of our rotation and this pick makes lots of sense for the Bears. Third Round [72nd] Kevin Zeitler: The Bears add another lineman from Wisconsin, Tice should be happy. He can take over the guard position next to his old teammate Gabe Carimi. Wisconsin produces NFL-ready lineman who are technicians (which is why Zeitler's stock has risen) he will start from Day 1 and improve the line immensely. ![]() Third Round [83rd] Nigel Bradham: The Bears add a fast playmaking linebacker from Florida State. He's immediate impact on special teams and can develop under Lach and Briggs. ![]() Fourth Round [111th] Dwight Bentley: Chicago adds a corner from Tillman's alma-mater and hopefully he can develop into a starter down the road for Chicago. He's a physical corner who showed aggressiveness against any and all receivers who crossed his path at the Senior Bowl. ![]() Fifth Round [142nd] Philip Blake: Heir to the Center position Philip Blake blew holes in defenses all year long for Baylor and would provide the Chicago with a quality center once Garza is no more. ![]() Sixth Round [173rd] BJ Cunningham: The Bears add a developmental wide out who can develop behind Floyd and Jackson. He's was a quality receiver in college and could be a starter contributor down the line. ![]() Seventh Round [204th] Carmen Messina: Chicago gets more depth at the linebacker position with Messina who comes from Urlachers alma mater. ![]() Depth Chart: QB: Cutler, McCown, Enderle RB: Forte, Bell, Allen, Clutts WR: Jackson, Jeffery, Bennett, Knox, Cunningham, Hester TE: Carlson, Spaeth, Davis LT: Webb LG: C. Williams, E. Williams C: Garza, Blake RG: Zeitler, Spencer RT: Carimi, Louis RE: Peppers, Wootton DT: Melton, Paea NT: Toenia, Adams LE: Curry/Idonije SLB: Roach, Gooden MLB: Urlacher, Dicico, Messina WLB: Briggs, Bradham CB: Tillman, Thomas, Moore, Bentley FS: Conte, Walters SS: Wright, Steltz |

I know a lot of people probably dislike not adding a tackle but I honestly feel like we've invested a lot in Webb.. and most of the LT's worthy of starting are going to come with a price tag the Bears can't afford. This is the year Webb needs to step-up and we can see if he's got what it takes to play left tackle in the NFL. He was a seventh round pick and came in VERY VERY raw. With Tice running the offense he will have plenty of help and given the very best chance to succeed. Adding a guard like Zeitler and getting Carimi back healthy should provide a big boost to the line and Tice calling the plays is invaluable.
