How about some defense?

If an elite offensive player isn't available at 19, I don't see anything wrong with adding some defense. Here's some prospects for discussion:

If we improve our offense through free agency, then I'd have no problem drafting a good defensive player at 19. Our secondary is still a big issue, Urlacher and Briggs aren't getting any younger, we don't have many good pass-rushers outside of Peppers, etc. Our whole D just seems kinda old.

From what I've understood, Emery is going to be more draft-focused rather than seeking expensive FA bandaids. Plus, as big as our cap room is it's going to be difficult to really get those play-makers and sign our own FA too. I do believe though, that we're gonna go with mostly defensive projects in the later rounds to eventually replace our grumpy old men. In the end, I would be happy with a lineman (D or O) in the first 2 rounds. Can never have enough of them?

We could go WR, OG, OT, S, DE, CB, or LB and as long as it's not a reach I'm happy with the pick. We need contributers on both sides this offseason don't care how we get em.

No to Zach Brown way to soft gets beat like a drum trying to get tackles he has no chance to stick at LB at least in a 4-3 and I dont have him as a 1st rder.

He has a better chance at playing Safety in the NFL than LB IMO. His coverage skills are really good but hitting a hole and getting a tackle he cant do at all.

I would take DeCastro over all these guys if he is there

janoris jenkins is who I really want if he is still on the board he is gonna be a beast in the NFL

yes there is he would likely be easily top 10 if he didn't have them and got to stay at FL. He is a beast at the CB I would love him on the Bears if he stays out of trouble.
