That's not to say I wouldn't trade Noah for Melo, cuz I more than likely would, IF he signs an extension. However, big men like Noah are not easily replaceable & go a long way to helping a team win a championship.

And dude Boozer is not this true post player you think he is. He has low post moves but he gets much of his scoring on slashing off pick & rolls as well as pulling up for the 12-15 footer. Not to mention the dude is like 6-7. That's fine for a center if he's built like Ben Wallace with the defensive skills to boot.
I agree that front court D is very important but there are different ways of getting a defensive center. Melo has a much more unique skill set. You can get a center that is good defensively much easier. Thats why I make the deal.

Favors has sooo much more talent than Taj its not even funny. And billups is 34 and has a team option next year. He is getting moved to a contender when Melo is dealt. Harris, Favors and Picks are a really solid offer. If Melo will sign an extension, I can't see much else topping it.

Diddy pretty much answered this for me on the basis of what Noah does for the Bulls and that Boozer is not a true post player (he's also not a center)...

but lets look at the champs of this past decade:
Lakers (Centers: Gasol and Bynum)
Celtics (Center: Perkins, Garnett (6'11) at PF)
Spurs (Center: Duncan)
Heat (Center: Shaq)
Pistons (Center: Ben Wallace)
Lakers (Center: Shaq)

And all together there's been 64 NBA Champions...9 titles have been won without an All-Star center (I consider Duncan and Gasol centers..I know they start at PF)....6 of those titles had Michael Jordan. 3 titles out of 64 have been won without an All-Star center and Michael Jordan.

The game has not really changed. A center is still necessary 96% of the time unless the 1991-1998 Michael Jordan is walking through that door. It may change if Wade and co start winning titles as they do not have an All-Star center (Though Bosh is 6'10, but he really doesnt play like a center like Duncan and Gasol do).

Is there an actual link to a story about this, or just twitter?

Now I'm far from a hater on any player in any sport, just not that impressed when it comes to LeBron.
