Default C.J. Watson may be the X factor on the season?

One of the Bulls first moves in free agency was to shore up their three point shooting with the signing of Kyle Korver. However, Korver isn't likely a 30 minute a night player, especially with Luol Deng playing so many...

"Thanks" for the name drop.

and the article is good, not my favorite from DT...I think if we rely on CJW to a great extent, we've got bigger problems than we need to have. Deng has to be the shooter on the floor when he's on...plain and simple...He needs to hit down outside jumpers consistently...not necessarily 3's all the time, but if you have an open 18-footer, he better knock it down.

Unlike Deng, Watson has shown an ability, in at least one season, to hit a reasonably high volume of 3s at a good percentage. Hopefully Deng improves, but it wouldn't surprise me if Watson is our 2nd best shooter on the season.

Did anyone watch golden state games last year? I know they just got curry. With him and ellis there, it's more than likely that watson wason't the primary ball handler. Was that the case?

he took a dip in his 3p% last year, does watson need the ball in his hand to score? can he play off ball?

Curry was the primary ballhandler. I talked about this in another thread. Watson spelled Curry at times but when Ellis got hurt, Watson started alongside of Curry. Its not a matter of having the ball as much as its about having time on the court. I don't remember him being Vinnie Johnson and lighting it up from the time he stepped on the court. But he was aggressive in taking shots and attacking the basket. A lot of that was Don Nelson's offense.

When you have 3 guards that can play both guard positions, that makes for a lot of flexibility. Curry, Ellis and Watson have ballhandling skills with a scorer's mentality. Curry, who may be the best scorer of the three, is a little less aggressive and more open to sharing the ball. Ellis is the total opposite.
