All the talk has been that the Cubs have been willing to eat salary but no one is biting. I am guessing if a team was actually willing to pony up a decent spec for the little cost risk on Soriano it would have happened by now. It hasn't.

I keep hearing through various people that the Yankees have inquired. Cubs may be waiting til a deadline deal to see if he heats up in the next few days to spark interest elsewhere. Or they are just hoping someone will ask for a few million less.

I doubt he is traded either, but IF yanks really do want him at this discount, that could be what is holding up the deal.
