I think this whole plan was looking at the water lines from what I remember.

Ricketts also dropped a billion dollars on this team so it's kind of understandable if he doesn't want to spend too much for now

Riensdorf has already said he won't allow the Cubs play at the Cell.

You also have to look at this from a financial point. Yes, having the Cubbies playing at the Cell would generate money for the White Sox from taking parts of parking, concession, ticket sales and probably a small rent fee. But in the grander scheme of things, the Cubs are the White Sox rival competition for the summer.

Plus the Cubs wouldn't allow the Sox to play at Wrigley while they built USCF. Hence why they played at Comiskey to '90.

Water?, in Florida it's about 15 feet...that's why there are no basements. In Chicago it's not an issue, unless you were referring to the old Dakota Indian burial ground under the pitching mound...

And there's no reason to renovate it(not cost effective over the long haul), spend the extra $$ on a new foundation and build it across the street...then use the bricks etc.
They can't just tear down Wrigley. The state would never allow that. And why would you want to just tear down history? Even if you did, you can't. So STFU.

He doesn't have to, the value of that property is already higher than the residents are generating. That's why developers exist.

Then why isn't the Old Yankee stadium still standing...or Tiger Stadium in detroit and hell the old comiskey is gone. All have been demolished... History doesn't mean shit today.

If Ricketts has to build a new ballpark...Wrigley field will be demolished. Be better to totally remodel Wrigley from ground up.

Thank you!
This is not correct, Wrigley Field does NOT nor has it ever had any historical landmark status outside of Chicago designation. There are almost 200 structures within city limits currently under landmark status , most of which none of us have ever heard of. The city council can approve the demolition of Wrigley, or any structure with a simple yes vote.

How was school today?

They'd have to redo the support beams and maybe fix up the grandstand so those obstructed views will go away. Again, if they're stuck on that same plot of land surrounded by Clark, Addison, Sheffield, and Waveland, they won't be able to expand the footprint much more than it currently sits on. There would be a lot of restrictions on the site.

Might have to play a few games in Puerto Rico like the Expos did back in the day, if no other MLB team will want to share during a renovation/rebuild
