I know everyone is very excited to hear possible rumors that Epstein could take the Cubs General Manager spot but let's take a step back and review the situation

I believe Henry is the man who gave Epstein the GM job when Epstein was only 28 years old. Epstein is very loyal to him. With some failed free agent signings such as Carl Crawford and a horrible pitching staff, Epstein won't leave Boston a mess to clean up. Even though the tug to accept the challenge of making the Cubs the winner is strong, I don't see him leaving Boston yet. One year left on his contract still. if he leaves now he will be torn about by Boston media for bailing after things failed. I think Epstein wants the Cubs job but the time really isn't right. 2 or 3 years down the road, Epstein would be more willing to leave Boston.

Epstein has a 42million dollar payroll and Epstein has a 160million dollar payroll. Now which Gm's team is still playing?

Okay. I see. So what you're saying is you made a thread to explain how you feel, despite there being like 5,000 GM threads... and the cherry on top is that there is no actual news. Peachy.

WHOA!!! Epstein has a combined 202 million dollar payroll while GMing 2 teams?!??!?! Thats impressive to say the least

Personally I'm still holding out hope for Billy Beane, as I feel he would be best.....
