Actually KW was just interviewed on CSN.. They had preliminary "chit-chat" like I wanna come back etc..

They actually just started negotiating within a day or two of the convention and it took 15 mins and he was back.

So no doom and gloom and a lot of pre-emptive striking from the media as usual.

You don't think that a guy with the experience of Kerry Wood could be of value to a bullpen that is likely to be filled with guys like James Russel and Chris Carpenter?

Oh come on, he didn't say best signing since 1917. This is one of Theo's best signings for the Cubs considering there hasn't been that many signings. I'm not doing backflips over any other free agent we've gotten so far. This season is gonna be awful so a "for the fans" signing is one small thing to look forward to.
