Our minor league system is pretty bare of quality SP prospects, so I see no reason not to be at least a bit excited. He may not bust out, but at least Epstein is following through with his goal of building pitching depth at all levels.

I guess there's a possibility then that even if Cespedes isn't worth the $50MM he's asking for, someone will still pay it. If this had been a year or two ago, he'd only be able to get $20MM or so as his "true" worth. I don't even think El Duque got that much $ to sign with the Yankees a decade or so ago, and he was a pretty darned good pitcher. Not factoring in inflation though.
