Nice Wrigley Bound post on Jeff Beliveau.

I had never heard of this guy before, but it sounds like he has good stuff, just command problems. I think the Cubs are just attracted to that kind of pitcher.

He should be promoted. Like others in ther minors that should be promoted. I think there will be promotions soon. Like, when September call-ups are made.

I don't know about universal promotion. In some cases it is nice to let the guy finish up the year at the level he's had success at. Better to keep your confidence and start the next season at a higher level than get promoted for three weeks now and get beat around.

Looking at the current 40 man roster, I don't think the September callups are going to be terribly exciting. This is the list of guys who haven't been on the team so far this season, and are on the 40 man.

Rafael Dolis (RP)
John Gaub (RP)
Blake Parker (RP)
James Adduci (OF)

With Guzman on the 60 day DL, there is one more open spot. Still, not much there to excite me.

I don't see any of those players being called up. I have a felling Parker and maybe Adduci will be removed. They that will make 3 spots open. Also, don't forget about waiver claims . I think their's a good chance, Baker, Fontenot and Nady will be claimed and traded. Then that opens 3 more spots.

He's not that good. He's OK but I don't think he's a major league catcher.
