You would think he would have gotten more last time, but he simply didnt.

Not a lot of big market teams need a 1B either.
It will be interesting to see if this "market correction" continues this upcoming FA season, but there is no doubt that the starting price will be WAY more than $11 million per, and to definitively say substantially less money is likely/probable is wishful thinking.

This has to be the fastest I have ever seen someone contradict themselves.

Congrats.

Well you said he will stay in the NL cuz he doesnt want to DH.

Then said if he goes to the AL he can DH when the team gets a better defensive 1B.

It's kinda backtracking.

if anyone follows the cubs financial situation at all they would know that this team will not invest 11 plus million dollars on one player. i have no clue where some of you get your info, or if it is just cubbie optimism but it is not going to happen. il wear a cubs logo on my sig from the day dunn signs to opening day if he were to sign....thats how confident i am that it will not happen.

also before this thread happens, no fielder or pujols either.

Using Toews and Keith in a debate to defend Stalberg....priceless.

He's also a 1B who gets on base a ton and hits a ton of home runs.

He didn't get a lot last time because he was a free agent right as the market collapsed. It's the same reason Abreu got chump change too. Dunn is not a sleeper anymore, people know what he brings to the table.

If Paul Konerko can make $12 million per, Adam Dunn will be making more than $11 million I can guarantee it.

Konerko got 12 when people were just going crazy with contracts. This isnt 2005-2008 anymore.

And while striking out might not mean a whole lot to you or me or any other smart fan, the fact he strikes out a lot will lower his contract.

I promise you that.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt cuz you're a Sox fan, but you can't be serious with that first sentence. I can name you atleast 5 players on the team right now off the top of my head that make more than $11mill. That said, Dunn will command more than that, but to think the Cubs brass wouldn't pay it is just ludicrous if you've ever followed the team.

I think it would help if some contracts could be out of the way
