I'm beginning to believe we won't land Fielder...which begs the question, who steps in?
Carlos Pena Derrek Lee Dan Johnson Jorge Cantu Xavier Nady and a few others are all out there. Pena makes the most sense I guess...tho I'd love to see D-Lee back in Chicago on a 2 yr deal. Won't happen w/ Z still here I guess... If not one of these guys, who in house?

thats what i mean by the whole "if we dont get fielder...we may look at a bigger rebuilding approach"

well as of right now this team is far from contending, add fielder and the reality is, you are still not a contender. Stick lahair in at 1b and start the process, the sooner the better for cub fans.
the only thing that boggles me is the fact that they traded marshall, and are talking about moving garza. but yeah, lahair at 1b for 2012

If not Fielder, someone already on the team like LaHair. The middle of the road free agent 1st baseman do nothing for me. Either get Fielder to make things a little more interesting or it doesn't matter.
