Demps is a good guy who doesn't plan on leaving chicago. My guess is if the Cubs don't offer him another contract after this season he would look to the South Side and to Milwaukee/St. Louis as alternates...but we could have another Kerry Wood on our hands. If he's traded, it's not going to be until the deadline, and even then it will be to a contending team that's probably in the North East.

keep him and if he has a good first half trade him at the deadline to a team like the Yanks where he has a chance to win.

What did Z do to the team over the years? What was so bad the he did? He won us a lot of ball games, I know that. .

ya idk about trading him at this point...

idk what his value or outside team interest is...probably not that high...he atleast has a good spot in our rotation...he's not a #2..but he'll probably be the #2 behind garza..which isnt terrible

He's an innings eater, and a great teammate/clubhouse guy. No real reason in trading him if we gotta pay 70% anyway. Also, after May last year, he was pretty decent.

Garza (if he stays)
Demp (if he stays)
.......
Shark
Wells
Wood?Volquez?

MLBTraderumors just posted* that the Red Sox and Mariners are interested in Maholm, but lists the Cubs and Orioles as still in on Maholm. Have to figure the Cubs interest only goes up if they deal Garza or Dempster.

*Eh I guess I should look at the timestamp before writing just posted since it was done four hours ago...
