There are a few scenarios where they can end up together on the same team.

Houston Rockets.

How would it happen?

The Rockets are entering this summer with 39.3 million dollars in guaranteed contracts. That's about 19 million under the cap... enough to sign only 1 of them. However, if they had Howard and Paul, there would be no need for Asik or Lin. Both Asik and Lin are scheduled to make 8.4 million next season. The Rockets could offer Asik, who proved his worth last season, to another team with a lot of cap room for a couple of draft picks. They can do the same with Lin, although it will be harder to trade him. If they pull that off, they'd have around 36 million in cap space... enough to sign both Paul and Howard. Since Texas has no income tax, Paul and Howard can even take less [like Wade, LBJ, Bosh did] so they can make room more other players. In addition, the Rockets would have a few extra draft picks to help their depth. Paul, Harden and Howard sounds pretty dangerous, no?

How likely is this to happen?

I actually think there is a chance of this happening. Houston is a big city and they have an attractive star already on the team. They also have a GM who is willing to pull the trigger on making some of these deals so he can get Paul and Howard to Houston.

Atlanta Hawks.

How would it happen?

Well, the Hawks are about 40 million under the cap if you look at only the guaranteed contracts. That's enough to sign both Paul and Howard to team them up with Horford. That would be a great trio in Atlanta and they'd likely be a top 3 team in the East. If they each signed for 17 million for the first season, that would even leave them enough room to target another decent player [or keep some of their own, like Teague].

How likely is this to happen?

Not too likely. Howard has never expressed interest in playing for his home town team and I don't see it happening any time soon. Maybe if he really wants to team up with Paul this could happen.

New Orleans Pelicans

How would this happen?

Like the Rockets, the Pelicans would have to move a contract to make room to sign both of them. The odd man out here would be Ryan Anderson. Like Asik, he played very well last season and it shouldn't be too hard to move his 8.4 million dollars a year contract to a team with cap space. After that deal, the Pelicans would have enough room to sign both Paul and Howard and match them up with Anthony Davis, Eric Gordon and Greivis Vasquez. If Gordon stays healthy and Davis blossoms, this team could potentially become a powerhouse in the West.

How Likely is this to happen?

Considering Paul left New Orleans in a trade two years ago, it's pretty unlikely that he'd want to return. It would take a major sell job to get him and Howard to NOLA.

Los Angeles Clippers

How would this happen?

Basically a S&T. Clippers would probably give the Lakers Jordan, Bledsoe and someone else off the bench and maybe a pick.

How likely is this to happen?

Not likely at all. By choosing not to play at 90% because of the pressure I think he actually has put far more pressure on himself. If he tried and looked bad or wasn't himself, we would have all commended his heart, but now he has to prove he is mentally strong enough for this league.
