Sony announced that their PSN will be back up 100% on May 30th at the lastest It may come back up earlier though. Users will get one month free of PSN Plus, 1 free year of ID theft protection, as well as other perks.
I don't personally play on the PS3 and I assume many other people might stray away from it now. What you guys think of the perks? Too little or just enough?

I will never understand how people tried arguing PSN over X-Box Live because it's "free". When you pay, it's service or compensation. Paying subscription prices isn't bad anyway. It breaks down to cents a day, and there's cheaper ways of getting X-Box live, like Amazon.
Give me games and hardware as an argument for the PS3, but when online gaming is your biggest reason for playing, I don't see how there's an argument for PSN unless someone is dirt broke. I'm glad that the PS3 customer base is seeing the weakness in that "free" and supposedly "just as good" service. Complete BS that PSN will be down for so long. Good thing I'm more fond of the X-Box.

The only thing I really need the PSN for is to sync my Trophies. I haven't played an online game since LBP2's opening week. I also won't be using the free PS+ because I don't care to play beta's or early demos. My internet speed isn't fast enough to download full games in less than a day, so those "free games" they give away would be useless to me. PSN works perfect for how I use it: download DLC for some games, play COD every now and then, and play the multiplayer to Uncharted and Assassins Creed. I'm more of a single player gamer. I'm not one of those gamers that need online multiplayer to survive. Right now it just feels like I'm playing a PS2 with insanely good graphics. Which is perfectly fine with me.

I'm fine with the perks. I personally never felt nor feel now that Sony owes me anything. I don't pay for the service and the down time hasn't really affected me at all. I'll gladly take the perks and put them to use but I'm fine with Sony and what is going on.

Very easy, but it's a stance I've always taken. PSN is way behind XBL, unless people really value a web browser on a console.

It seems like the average gamer isn't too saddened by the hack, and I've even seen some people say that it's refreshing not playing for some time. But like some of you said, Sony's reputation will probably never fully recover. A lot of people will now realize that the free aspect and the PSN in general, is far worse that Xbox Live than most people thought.
Xbox live isn't that expensive when you pay yearly, and there are ways to get them cheaper, so I don't see why the 'free' aspect would now be the deciding factor when choosing between the PS3 or 360.
