David O. Russell drops out of controversial Uncharted movie

Even though it's pretty easy to ruin video game movies just by making them, he truly would have ruined it by making it the way he was going to. Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake, Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro as his uncles (no mention of Drake's family anywhere in the Uncharted story).

Plot line was "a crime family that metes out justice in the world of art and antiquities ... They're like the Sopranos in some ways, but they have great taste, and they have a sense of justice." In other words, literally nothing to do with the Uncharted story. The only similarity is the title and the main character named Nathan Drake.

Hopefully whoever the new director is, Wahlberg gets ditched and Nathan Fillion will be picked for the role that he deserves. He already said he wants to play this role. Had a twitter campaign for it too.

I like Nathan Fillion, but I always thought of Bradly Cooper as Nathan Drake.

That's exactly who I was going to say as my 2nd choice. Pretty much the same exact voice. That'd be a good role for Cooper. He seems to be getting out of the comedy/chick flick genre.

Nathan Drake is a funny ass dude too though, and he is a total ladies man. I think Cooper can bring that side out better, although Fillion is a spitting image.

If it is one of those two instead of Marky Mark it will be a huge upgrade.

I never thought of Cooper, but that would be a good role for him. Plus he probably has enough star power now to carry it.

I always thought the dude from Bones, David Boreanaz, would be good, too. He has that sarcastic, witty personality that Drake does, and he looks like him.
