A closed beta test is under way for the free-to-play Legendary Champions (above) from Aeria Games. The game is a fantasy MMORPG. Visit http://legendarychampions.aeriagames.com.

• A closed beta for Legend of Edda from GamesCampus.com is set for Sept. 30 through Oct. 11. The game is based on the Greek mythological conflict between the Gods of the Olympus and the Titans. For information or to register, visit http://LegendofEdda.gamescampus.com.

Add-ons:

• New content for Crackdown 2 is coming from Microsoft Game Studios and Ruffian Games through Xbox Live Marketplace for 560 Microsoft points. The "Toy Box" add-on will feature a new vehicle tag mode, a Level 6 ability reward and the Keys to the City. The keys will include God Mode, Infinite Ammo, Fly Cam, spawning of weapons, gadgets and more, and the ability to freeze time of day. For more information, visit xbox.com/crackdown2.
  
• Taleworlds Entertainment and Paradox Interactive released free DLC for the action RPG Mount & Blade: Warband. Featured are three new maps and more than 70 new achievements. A trailer detailing the new content can be found on YouTube.
  
• On Sept. 7, Namco Bandai Games America will release new DLC, the "Hades Challenge" quest pack, for Clash of Titans. It will feature two new quests. The first DLC was released earlier and two more are planned for Sept. 21 and Oct. 5.

Demo:

• A demo for Vanquish from Sega of America is available through Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation store. The game is a sci-fi third-person shooter

Free trial:

• A free trial of Champions Online from Atari and Cryptic Studios is available now through Sept. 7. In the game, players take on the persona of superheroes and do battle. Visit champions-online.com/play_free.

Coming:

• Fans have a chance to win $2,500 and a print signed by the leads of Sid Meier's Civilization V as the game heads for a Sept. 21 launch. For details, visit www.facebook.com/CivAnon.
  
• Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole - The Videogame from Warner Bros. Interactive will arrive in October for the Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 and DS.
