I started looking at some of the free agents that might be of interest to the Bears and how meet their budget issues.

With limited resources connection to staff and system will probably become a big part of the recruitment process.

OL

C Mitch Morse [KC] *way too expensive

OG Jordan Devey [KC]

OG Jeff Allen [KC]

OT Jake Fisher [Cincinnati] *Oregon connection to Helfrich

OT Juwan James [Miami] *Hiestand Tennessee, Probably too expensive

I'd love to add a big CB to the defense, myself. But yes, OL is always welcome.

Cedric Ogbuehi should not cost much, he looked good in camp but did not do well in games...a switch to RT with hiestand helping him would be a solid option...
Marcus Martin at guard would be decent and would not cost much either...

He just had a pretty dominant year at LT, I would take him in a heartbeat, but he is going to make 10 million+/season.

Hey Windy?

What's the chances we can give Parkey and his contract to a team with a worse FG kicker, give for nothing or make some deal that works?

And then try to sign Robbie Gould, who just said in a podcast he wants to retire a Bear?

Parkey was one of the most inaccurate kickers in the NFL. No one would take that.

Brandon McManus, DEN

That's easy to say.

Dan Bailey of Min had a worse percentage. And Chris Boswell of Pit was worse too. Stephen Hauschka, BUF and Brandon McManus, DEN were in Parkey's ball park percentwise. Don't know who's a FA in that group. Plus, Parkey has one of the best touchback percentages.

It's unlikely Bears could make a deal to trade him, but it's not impossible. Depends how much Bears are willing to pay.

It’s easy to say because it’s true. Who would willingly take that contract on as bad as he was last year?

Hunt plus a rt plus a new kicker and this would be an A offseason

Daryl Williams should be a RT option, although he too will be on the expensive end.

Parkeys deal is horrendous.

But even if we trade him the cap hit for the guaranteed money stays with us.

If he has offsets, it will provide little relief as he will at best get the minimum from someone.

Pace was desperate to solve the kicker position and parkey had some positives last season. He was like 93% on FGs, he was good over 50 yards, and also good with on sides. He didn’t have much of a resume, but he had a lot of positives. I don’t get why the GTDs were so high though. Usually pace is good with that.

Please take him off, dude sucks.

You wan't a downgrade from Bobby Massie?

I don’t want to sign him, but he does have a staff connection and at a low contract would be experienced competition for Coward.

Dude's not very good. Maybe Heistand can get the most out of him, but leading up to the Dolphins game I watched enough shit tape on the dude to never want him wearing our colors.

I prefer a veteran with a little upside or at least some time at LT, so we can kill 2 birds with one stone.
