Baez has potential going for him. Add to it he has hit 38 HR's in a season in the minors. So his power is legit.
Flip to that is he was not able to make a adjustment last year. This year it looked like he was able to make an adjustment and lost some power for more contact. That is an improvement.
I think it will take 2 weeks to rehab. He could be back up by the deadline. 100 AB's is 25 games. That seems like too much time to just rehab. They did not do that to Soler so there is no reason to do so. Now they went max with Wada and Olt. Wada they promoted. Olt they pushed to AAA's roster as injury depth. But neither have much value.
My prediction is he will be ready by the deadline. If the right deal comes up he will be traded. If not he will get promoted.
As long as his injury does not limit his production. That is always a factor.
