There is a pretty good chance that they are. We are in the NL central, afterall. If we add Crawford, I see no reason as to why we can't win it. We still have a very good starting rotation and we can put a few bucks into the bullpen. I think we have a decent shot at the central.

Hendry signing Crawford would essentially be doubling down on an already bad hand. The kind of contract Crawford is going to get will be nearly as crippling as Soriano's current deal is. No need to do that.

Clean out the older guys, play the young kids, and prepare any funds for a run at Prince Fielder.

Except Crawford is like 3 years younger... He's also the type of player who can change this team, IMO. Imagine a line up of

Castro
Ramirez
Soto
Soriano
Byrd
1B. LaRoche?
DeWitt

I'd love that line up. It scores about 4.7 runs a game. This Cubs team scores about 4.3. That's just something I can see the manager throwing out there, that's not even the best line up. The best line up of those 8 guys, plus pitcher can score over 5 a game.
