Currently winning the battle at the dot 16-14, with only the Captain being under .500 for the game...

Wow, those stats are awesome. Except the game is tied because of two face offs they got out worked.

They should make Pierre McGuire wear a helmet like the guy next to him is wearing

Helmet? I wish he was wearing a muzzle. That guy is a complete hockey moron.

Power play needs to come through here.

No movement on the power play. Nice that they held it in there consistently, but no lanes to shoot.

So a winger getting out worked on a face off makes the team bad at face offs? That makes no sense... You could say that Shaw was lazy on that first goal by not engaging right after the puck was dropped, but that doesn't mean that the face off was bad.

This seems to be the thing that some forgot about the first goal. The center did his job on that one, but faceoffs are more than just the center.

Kruger won the faceoff but he didn't necessarily do his job. Kruger and Shaw both should have tied up their men but that didn't happen. Kruger needed to tie up his man, Granlund, who ended up getting the first shot of three on goal. Kruger wins it, Shaw doesn't tie up, Kruger doesn't tie up, defense doesn't tie up...goal. Several people to fault there, but as Eddie pointed out in the second period it just emphasizes how important the defensive zone faceoffs are. On the second goal the Blackhawks won it again but quickly lost the puck just for Clutterbuck to get a tip up high.

That's a fundamental of a winger to get in on a face off set up like that and get the puck.

And both of those situations led to Craw having goals go in that he couldn't really help.

I'll give you that Kruger didn't do his job after he got the puck back to his side, but if Shaw does his job this is all moot most likely. Ultimately why both goals came off of faceoffs, neither was due to the center being beat solely.

Crawford is playing really well so far tonight. He made two in close saves before the third one was put away on the first goal...defense needs to clear that out. Second goal was a nice tip w/ screen, hard to ever get mad at a goalie on that.

Exactly, and even more reason that a center can do everything right on a face off and still end up "losing" it due to not getting help.

Couple good chances for the fourth line. This I like.
