Originally started with cotton and paper and other fiber-based industry lobbies. Commercial production of hemp used to dominate the textile market. The hysteria around weed all started from textile groups.
I thought it was ommy's starring role as the father in "reefer madness". No???

The FDA is currently studying the affects of marijuana use on veterans who have been diagnosed with PTSD. To link it back to football, Real Sports on HBO did a segment on marijuana use of ex-NFL'ers and they all state they prefer that option to pain pills. Jim McMahon is a big proponent of it.
McMahon probably would have been dead by now if he didn't smoke it

Your post make me sad. Not that my kids are doing heroin, but just that you go there so quickly.

Maybe take a step back, get a big breath of air and rethink if you want to be on the discussion board for the purpose of 'discussing' or just throwing out wacky posts. Whatever you choose will have no baring on me or most of the other posters. It will just help you identify what you can get form this forum.

Aside form that good luck in your journey and I honestly wish you the best.
Heroin is the biggest problems in high school, nothing whacky about his post. You kids MAY not be doing heroin.

Just my own experience.

I never smoked Anything until I left Chicago, having been isolated in the streets and Saying no, Believe it Or Not. Then I traveled out West and moved in with my Uncle. I "was" a workout junkie till I met California life.

I met this girl that wanted to know if I wanted to smoke a joint with her. It was covered in licorice paper and a tight roll like a camel.
Well we hit it off at her place and I got 'loaded' and had an incredible experience with her while high .... after that I became a smoker.
Long story short, Now I am totally unmotivated to workout and lift Hard like I always used to.
Now I wanna get high and go after girls exclusively.
I am at a JC now and if, I would have stayed on my earlier course, my grades were high enough to go to a somewhat "more prestigious" place of higher learning.. And with my financial situation get massive grants and/or work/study. Now I am on work/study but lost some time reaching my potential

Before I always seemed to have boundless energy to climb a mountain in my life Now I like to get high and F+++

My point is this : Marijuana crippled my motivation and I am in serious need of repair.

I have NO Idea if Alcohol can have the same experience, because I hardly ever drink.

Is Marijuana Bad for everyone ? I do not know.
Is it Bad for me ? I can emphatically state yes.
Is it just a growing up phase ?
My Uncle says yes and that as long as I am aware of its effects then I can get help and/or help myself. I guess time will tell
.... And I like TRUMP for what he is trying to do for our country. Do I like the person ? No ! Do I have to like a leader that has mega millions maybe billions and is in his 70s with no necessity for money and No Political Debt to others at the helm of our nation ? No !
It's all about Results and I believe we are going to have a better place for my future and someday family and I VOTE YES for his platform and NO for him as a person

Lol get yo ass up and hit up a gym.

That sounded like something you just pulled out of your ass, so I used google and discovered you are completely full of shit.

I know that @msadows has already pointed out that I do not know what is going on in high schools, but when I talk to the other teachers I know, they say that Xanax is the big drug that kids are using. Not sure if that counts in the "hillbilly heroin" category, but it's the huge one.

try again, quit being blinded. I know when my daughter went through high school 4-7 years ago, district #230 (Orland Park, Palos Tinley Park) had a major heroin issue, like most school districts. Before her, it was my niece in district 228.

That is really tough to hear. I genuinely hope that both your daughter and niece have since sought professional counseling for starting to abuse such a heavy narcotic as heroin so early in their adolescence. I pray their respective schools have since been treating this epidemic so no one else succumbs to the kind of addiction they had to at such a tender age.

Complete bullshit, sorry about your daughter and niece, but that is your story and has nothing to do with what is "the biggest problems in high school". That's like saying you stubbed your toe on your dresser this morning so that is the #1 health threat in America.

Is this guy really this stupid?

FWIW, I grew up in, went to school in, worked in, and currently live in District 228. Beyond all of that, I am still in contact with many teachers, admins, and the school board of that district. @TheWinman is vastly overstating any heroin problem they have.

Actual response from someone I know at District 228 that deals with all four high schools:

"We certainly have had some isolated incidents with students who have used heroin, but nothing that anyone would classify as a 'heroin problem.'"

That text came 10 minutes ago.
