The Wire was excellent but season 2 was sub par. Breaking Bad was just "good". For me, Deadwood is the best.

I need to watch Deadwood though. As a fan of all things western, I suspect I will love it.

Also, I agree that the dockworker story line in Wire Season 2 nearly killed it for me, but the other seasons were nearly perfect storytelling

Season 2 was pretty bad.

Titus Welliver was great in Deadwood. I thought the series was pretty decent.

You owe yourself the opportunity to watch Deadwood. If you are a fan of all things western, this one is a hit.
With The Wire, season 2 and maybe 5 were not that good. I understand the ditector had to grab the city by all fronts so he had to showcase the port. But the port is actually heavily guarded and simply not the entry for many nefarious goings on. Not to say that it doesnt happen, just not on the scale of slaves and hookers like the show delved into. But season 3 grabbed my full attention back to that show.
