I don't find Tommy Hanson to be an ace...yet.

I guess he could be an ace on a different staff if that is why he wrote that list. On the phillies he isnt the ace, but on other clubs he is :dunno:

There are very few aces in the game today. With so much parity and so many teams, the odds of there being a pitcher who can flat-out dominate every time he takes the mound is getting slimmer and slimmer.

My list.

Roy Halladay
Felix Hernandez
C.C. Sabathia
Tim Lincecum
Cliff Lee
Jered Weaver
Dan Haren
Justin Verlander
David Price
Josh Johnson

the rest of the guys are certainly top of the rotation guys, but Aces are very rare

I'd probably have to add Jamie Garcia and Johan Santana to the original list

Agreed on Greinke.

I agree on Santana, that guy was a monster. not so much anymore.

Beckett of old? yes. Current Beckett? not so much

Brandon Webb is making big jumps and could pitch within a month. That's the latest I heard. He was ready for a rehab game.

as you said in the duplicate thread(or other one whatever)

this list should not be necessarily the "ace" of a certain team but of the best pitchers...regardless of where they would be in the rotation on any other team....

although, atleast to me, when i look at the list of really "elite"(although this is a very, very, very, very, subjective categorization) pitchers in comparison to aces...its pretty much identical

no real difference except for a few maybe outliers like cole hamels(but i dont think hes really an ace either...)
