Going to watch for sure. The real question is; wait to binge watch the first season, or watch right away.

Looks freakin awesome... but what the hell with making another zombie show with the same name as the previous?

Isn't "Walking Dead" still going on? Or is that over?

Correct me if I'm wrong, because the side-series hasn't aired yet.

But I think they made the second series, because they wanted more freedoms to create a story from scratch in the Walking Dead universe, where the main series follows 50%+ of the comic book.

The original series will air until the actors/producers are tired of doing it and/or the ratings or ads don't pay, like any other show.

I get doing an original show in the Walking Dead universe but "Fear The Walking Dead" just sounds like a shitty name.

Show might turn out to be decent, I like the idea of covering the zombie apocalypse as the outbreak is happening, so many times a story just skips the origin and outbreak and jumps to the aftermath.

Yeah I thought it was a pretty lame name too. But I too like the idea.

And Crys, from what I've read, you seem to be on point. This show is hardly going to relate to the comics, if it relates to it at all. Which is cool because there will be no spoilers.

Looks like your going to get info on how the plague started and that it takes place on the West Coast. I watched seasons 1-4 of Walking Dead faithfully, and have been binge watching again with my daughter. I will watch for sure. Cast looks awesome by the way.

I wonder how long the show will take to get to where TWD basically started.... full blown outbreak could take 6 months or a year to where it cannot be controlled and it becomes every man for themselves.

I have to wonder how much retreading they will wind up doing.... TWD covered the people and how the world changing affects them in pretty good depth. The loss of humanity and emotion and all that.

TWD has some obvious themes that run central to the whole show.... I don't want them to be abandoned but I really don't want to see a show just retread the same character development I've already seen.

I like the idea and AMC has earned the benefit of doubt...so I will give it a shot.

The storyline does not permit a long shelf-life. Twenty episodes before you are just repeating WD.

Perhaps.... but it depends on how things turn out for these new characters..... maybe the government doesn't totally fall to pieces there.... maybe they don't wind up entirely on their own.

I would be surprised to see this show follow the same path as TWD.... if we wind up with a group of survivors looking for a safe place, finding one, getting broken up, and then finding eachother and another place over and over I doubt this spin-off lasts very long.

Setting it in LA alone will set it apart, but with WD still airing...its going to take some strong writing to not feel like I am watching the same thing twice once everyone turns.

Although, who am I to complain about more zombies? I love zombies.

Starts tomorrow. Who's watching?

Unless we're gonna talk about this in TWD thread

I couldn't get into the show at all. I think I just hate the actors. The drug addict kid is my "Carl".

I'll be there. Love the tense atmosphere of this show. Kinda reminds me of playing Silent Hill or The Last of Us.

S1 of this show was bad. They can turn it around, I'll watch and hope for the best.

Kinda reminds me of PaRappa the Rapper.
