I had a highly enjoyable Easter. Maybe its because we've had such bad weather for so long, but Sunday was perfect for outdoor Easter Egg Hunting.

It was great. I discussed how selfish and pouty WaWa Payton was as well as prayed to my Adam Shaheen statue.

I spent the rest of my day looking for schedule leaks and reasons to complain about the London game.

I also said a handful of more prayers for Kelly Stafford while thinking about and sending positive vibes to the people of Paris for their heartbreaking loss.

My Easter was fantastic. My wife made the most amazing egg bake with tortilla chips and hatch chile and cheese for the church breakfast potluck, we officially became members of that church yesterday and didnt know they were going to do all that in the middle of the big Easter service but they did, and our 3 year old made a big scene by wandering around the altar during a little prayer while we were all up there behaving ourselves, getting lots of laffs. Back home had a really fantastic ham from a pastured duroc pig, awesome potato gratin, asparagus, all that stuff.

Tldr, amazing weather, welcoming new church, great food and kids had a fantastic time.

We had a good day. Our voyage to Key West has been delayed so we are tied up at a marina in Pensacola Fl. My wife and I took our dinghy to a sandy island inside Pensacola bay and spent the day enjoying the sand, sun and 2 inch surf.

Had an awesome time. My sister in law was in town with her kids so we had a 5 kid Easter Egg hunt at my house. That was a little crazier than usual. Went to a Tex Mex place for lunch after church and let the kids run around while we drank on the outdoor patio. Good times.

Went to church with my sister's family. They had four baptisms, all different ages, where they showed four brief videos of each talking about their walk to this point, as the entered the pool. Was really well done, they were all very well spoken. Then to my sister's for some ham dinner, and some fun family drinks and laughs.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I flew to LA from San Antonio at 6AM. Had to sit next to a woman pushing 350 at least and Delta would not let me change seats even though there were plenty open. Then when I got to LA my flight to Sac was cancelled and ended up spending 8 hours in the Delta terminal trying to get home.

So yeah...I have had better.

I wore a T-shirt comfortably outdoors for the first time in over six months. That is always one of my favorite days of the year. It feels like you have been literally reborn.

(Coincidence or not...I will let you decide)

DaBears already asked me about my Easter in a much better and more personally fulfilling way.

In Canada we are significantly less religious than the US. We do not have the entire Evangelical Mega Church crowd and I would say the average Canadian does not regularly attend church even if in some vague way we identify as being Christian.

This means Easter is more of a family gathering and a tradition, than something that we really celebrate and do up in a special way.

For my family it is more about the kids and Easter egg hunts.

I made leg of lamb, which was awesome. My four year had a great time finding Easter eggs, it was pretty close to a Christmas vibe from him.

Whoa, God brought you a new grill for Easter? I thought Jesus only brought gifts on Christmas.
