jeez... braves are closing in on 200 pitches and we're not even through 8. That's like 25 pitches an inning.

My MLB went to break for a pitching change, and didn't come back until LaStella was batting.

I looked online and it says "Schwarber walked". Whaaaaatttttt??? :)

Actually that's not even the most stupid stats. The cubs have scored 14 runs today.... they are 3-13 with RISP. LOL

9 runs on 3 hits, one of which was IF dribbler that kept the inning alive.

2 HBP, 5 walks.

With a 5 run lead, two men on and two outs, on an 0-2 count, the Braves hit Kris Bryant. Kept it alive.

So... think the story of the first 2 weeks is easily the bullpen. Yet another game they picked up the starter in. Butler had a bit of a rough starter but he came in bases loaded if memory serves and only gave up 2 ER. Rest of the bullpen kept them off the board. Really digging the Cishek signing. It's just no nonsense when he's in.

Heyward batted twice, but we hit him, and walked him. We inexplicably threw to second when a man on third threatened to score, and allowed them both to come home. Some dude named Efren Navarro batted twice, or we'd still be out there."

How does 7-7 look so good? When you're certain they'll be 6-8 to start the season. Only marginally better, but sure feels a lot better right now.

LOL, sucks I missed that one. I saw 10-2 in the 6th and didn't even bother to turn it on. Guess I'll catch the replay.

Also Zobrist out there to prove 2017 was a fluke not the start of his rapid descent. Dude's hitting .326/.408/.465(145 wRC+). If it wasn't for the fact that Bryant is look like an 8+ win player right now hitting .352/.493/.611(201 wRC+) he'd easily be the class of the team. Schwarber is tied for third in wRC+ hitting .238/.347/.524(135 wRC+). Almora is also tied for third hitting .276/.344/.517(135 wRC+). Baez is 5th hitting .191/.309/.574(121 wRC+) which is a really odd statline for a very good wRC+. Contreras is 6th hitting .288/.362/.423(115 wRC+). And obviously you expect Rizzo to come back at some point in that 140 wRC+ range.

When Rizzo is back that gives you 7 or so solid choices for bats. It'd be nice to see Russell/Heyward come around some. I think you can live with one of them slumping some what but i'm not sure how much I like 2 guys who are clearly working on stuff in there daily especially when Baez is some what hit or miss batting average wise thus far. That is to say I wouldn't sit Baez but he doesn't really have the prototypical triple slash of a starter currently though the past week has really looked great.
