Doesn't mean fans can't be right over them on decisions that are made
Reminds of Dave Kaplan...

Fans will tweet or call with a complaint about something Maddon did or doing and he'll respond with first saying it the dumbest tweet etc of year and then say how Maddon has 3 NLCS appearances and WS ring to back him up..

But

Like the other day on his tv show, he goes onto a rant about Happ batting leadoff and how he wants them to give up on that experiment..

I was hoping one of his guest would throw back in his face about Maddon 3 NLCS and WS..lol

No, but we have very little way of knowing that. Maddon's early season moves follow a pattern of patience and trying to instill confidence in his players. There's a plan there. Is it right or wrong? I have no idea.
Curious to know when he started that pattern and who he was being patience with?
Only guy these last 3 years ive seen him sorta hold back has been Almora..

Baez Russell Bryant Schwarber all got plugged in and played everyday their first full year..
Even Contreras played a bunch ahead of Miggy and Ross when he came up ..

There were more open positions then. With Happ and Almora they're competing for the same playing time unless you start to talk about reducing Heyward's playing time.

I get Happ showed the power last year and all but damn, you think after 3 yrs now and the way he plays defense hed give Almora that opportunity to play most everyday and ease Happ in..

I know small sample size and all..

Just find it funny that with a .250 Average Kyle Hendricks is higher then 6 of the guys in the lineup today..

? Not sure what this is in reference to. Javy's a streaky player or at least has been. When he's on he's ridiculous. When he's not he's terrible. If he instead can be sustained very good he's a better player in my eyes. Like I said, there's encouraging signs he's going that way. Clearly I've never been his biggest fan but if the facts change around him I'm willing to change my opinion.

What he doesn’t get credit for is his smarts.

Maybe among some fans but I generally see that the press really highlights his baseball IQ. Though I would say that at times that cuts both ways because we've seen him occasionally try to do too much. There's definitely more pros than cons there.

Happ will have a better BA than Schwarber and more HRs on an AT BAT basis

Thanks Nostradamus, I think I'll file this one right next to "The 2016 Cubs have morphed into one baseball's worst teams. No way in hell they would win a single playoff game."

It may go unnoticed if the cubs don't score but that Bryant at bat was so good. 10 pitch walk after starting 0-2

20 pitches for one out. Gonna be a long day for the Pirates bullpen at that rate.

Outstanding. He was 0-2 with three fouls when I turned away and came back and did a double take when I saw he walked.
